Rick Ross Addresses Drake, Port Of Miami Legacy, New Book & Music | Nessa on Air

Rick Ross stopped by HOT 97 to talk to Nessa about his new single “Minks In Miami” with French Montana and Max B, his upcoming album Set In Stone dropping June 12, and his new book Renaissance of a Boss, out now. He also celebrated 20 years of his debut album Port of Miami and opened up about putting together his upcoming anniversary tour featuring a full orchestra and choir. Ross reflected on the making of classics like “Hustlin’,” the pressure of staying consistent for two decades, and the moments that changed his career forever. He also shared stories about finally collaborating with Max B after years of FaceTime conversations through French Montana and explained why now was the right time to bring back “boss talk” music. Rick Ross also addressed some of the most viral moments fans still talk about, including why he told DJs not to play Drake’s vocals during Verzuz, whether things could ever improve between them, and why French Montana could be the bridge between the two. He talked about almost overdosing on mushrooms while watching Emancipation starring Will Smith, losing a six-figure ring inside a pool table, and getting replaced by George Clooney in a film project. Ross also shared advice on fatherhood, generational wealth, longevity in hip hop, and why he believes you need to be “delusional” to achieve greatness. Renaissance of a Boss is out now and Set In Stone drops June 12.
