Lil Durk Cleared of Murder-for-Hire Charges — But Legal Battle Continues

Lil Durk has been found not guilty on all charges in his federal murder-for-hire trial, delivering a major victory for the Chicago rapper after being accused of orchestrating a plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo.

The case centred around a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles in which Rondo survived, while his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was killed.Prosecutors alleged that Durk helped organise and finance the attack, accusations he denied.

After three days of deliberations, the federal jury cleared Durk of the murder-for-hire-related charges, meaning he will not be convicted in connection with the Los Angeles shooting.

However, Durk has not yet been released from custody. His legal battle is continuing, with a separate federal trial scheduled for October 5, 2026, involving racketeering and murder-related weapons allegations. Prosecutors are continuing to pursue that case.

For now, the acquittal represents a significant legal victory for Lil Durk, but his future remains tied to the outcome of the upcoming federal proceedings.
